The usual suspects were at it again last night.
Jazz w/Attitude , Jeff (sax), Wayne Holmes (Keys) Dave (bass) and Shinya (drums).
It started off with good playing from myself (Guitar) and Herb (T.Sax) playing on “Green Dolphin St.”, and “There will Never Be Another You“.
Charles Bartlett (Trpt) came in and played while Wayne sang “Just Two of Us”.
Jeff decided to take us all upstairs and called the Miles tune, “Walkin'”.
Herb started the song “You Don’t Know What Love is”, solo and Lon Iveys (vl & drums) sang the tune out.
Inbetween sets The legendary jamaica kats the flythe brothers, winky (t.sax) & mike (drums) brought in a rockship and decided it was time to go to the cosmos!
Winky got up and called, “Straight, No Chaser” ( it took me a few years to understand the title!)
Renee (vls) sang and Anita Baker tune “Been So Long” with Freddy Dugard playing drums.
Joyce Ferguson (vl) sang a great version of, “At Last“. younger singers should have taken notice of the professionalism even if it was a jam session.
Stephanie (vls) got up and sang “Fly Me To The Moon“.
We dropped her off on the moon when Mike (drums) got up to play, “Impressions” Tony (trpt) caught up with us just in time, because with the help of everyone.. we went to the cosmos!
We picked stephanie back up on the way from the cosmos and she sang Chaka Khan‘s, “Sweet Thing”.
It was one of those nights……where were you?
The Jazz w/Attitude kats were at it again!
Jeff (sax), Curtis Fowler (Keys) Dave (bass) and Shinya (drums).
The kats from york college came down again and played some tunes, then started playing a funky groove with curtis, Herb (sax) soloing.
Sam (T.Sax) came through along with Gerald Lindsey (bass) and Lon Ivey (Drums).
Some of the tunes that were played were;
“Wave”, “A Night in Tunsia”, “Stella By Starlight“, “Seven Steps to Heaven” and a funky jazz version of “Sunny”
Mersherll Washington Came through also and same a blues.
Once again it was a good time had by all!

But it didn’t stop the kats from playing.
Some of the tunes that were played were, “Out of Nowhere”, “Straight No Chaser”, Softly As in A Morning Sunrise”, “Footprints” and “Mister Magic”
